Community Groups Benefit from Wide Bay Australia International Airshow

The Wide Bay Australia International Airshow is shaping up to be a true community event
with over 19 community organisations collaboratively working together to ensure the
success of the event. The Royal Flying Doctors Service and Leukaemia Foundation are
the main charities supported by the Airshow however behind the scenes individuals from a
range of community groups are collaboratively working together.

Organisations are assisting with important elements of the event such as car parking,
catering, camping, infrastructure, the event communications centre, site preparation for
pyrotechnics and first aid. Benefitting groups from throughout the region include Gin Gin
Scouts, Scouts Kepnock, Hinkler Lions, IMPACT crews, Rotary Sunrise, Woodgate SES,
Woodgate Rural Fire Service, Goodwood Rural Fire Service and St Johns Ambulance.
"It is important to hold an event that supports our community groups and maximizes the
economic benefits throughout our community. At the same time our event could not
succeed without the support of these groups" said Daryl Corpe, Chairman, Wide Bay
Australia International Airshow.

The event also provides an opportunity for community organisations to promote
themselves. This year MAF, Angel Flight, Red Cross Blood Bank, Army Cadets, Air
Force Cadets, Crimestoppers, Early Holden Car Club and Bundy Thunder will have a site.
"It is about promoting the active involvement of our community. It is about creating an
event that brings benefits to our region through our community groups and through the
economic benefits" said Daryl Corpe.
